Seip nets 1,000th career point, Wildcats fall to NAHS

The last two games for the reigning Division II Southern Hills Athletic Conference champion Whiteoak Wildcats haven't been kind, as they fell to Riverview East Academy Wednesday and Friday night lost to the North Adams Green Devils.
One positive for WHS on Friday was that senior Doc Seip scored his 1,000th career point for the Wildcats in the second quarter against NAHS.
[[In-content Ad]]The loss on Friday, a SHAC game, came where the difference seemed to be in the third quarter, as the visiting Green Devils outscored WHS, 17-8 in the eight minutes.
At halftime, NA led 25-23 as each team scored eight points in the second frame, and the Green Devils outscored the host Wildcats, 17-15 in the second.
In the fourth, each team scored seven points.
Leading WHS in scoring was Gage Carraher with 16 points, followed by Tyler Williams with seven and Seip with five.
Also adding points to the WHS side were Blake Trueblood and Luke Taggert with four points each, and Leonard Becraft with two points.
WHS made three 3-pointers with Carraher making all three.
For NA, Kris King scored a team-high 14 points, followed by Andrew Mitchell and Devin Gardner with 11 points each. Will Leasure scored two points, while Sheridan Carroll added four. Also scoring two points was Levi Bales. Seth Sparks finished with five points.
The Green Devils made six 3-pointers with Gardner sinking three. King added two three's and Mitchell made one.
WHS went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line, while NA was 5-of-11.

On Wednesday, the Wildcats lost a non-league game to Riverview East, 75-39.
Leading WHS in scoring against Riverview East was Taggert with 15 points, as he made one 3-pointer, along with going 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Also scoring for WHS was Nick Wardlow with three points, Justin Emery with two, Trueblood with two, Williams with four, Seip with four, Becraft with four and Carraher with five.
WHS was 11-of-17 from the free-throw line.
