LCHS hosts cross-country invitational

Lynchburg-Clay High School hosted the '12 Lynchburg-Clay Cross-Country Invitational on Saturday at LCHS.
Winning the girls high school race was Amanda Farthing (Manchester) with a time of 21:38.2.
In the girls high school overall team standings, the winning school was Fayetteville with a score of 34, followed by Ripley in second at 47 and Whiteoak in third with 52 points. LC was fourth, totaling 84 points. Manchester and West Union did not field full teams.
For LC, scores included: 7, Laney Lewis, 23:15.2; 19, Danielle Coleman, 27:36.6; 24, Ginny Gadzinski, 28:59.8; 25, Emily Roush, 30:44.9; 27, Alyssa Greene, 32:48.4.
For WHS, scores included: 9, Jennah Lomske, 23:38.8; 11, Clarissa Johnson, 24:08.3; 13, LeAnna Lomske, 24:33.7; 14, Courtney Cummings, 24:59.0; 21, Regan Bohrer, 28:08.4; 26, Olivia Lomske, 32:21.6.
In the boys meet, West Union was the top school with 30 points, followed by LC in second at 33 and Fayetteville in third at 93. Ripley was fourth (96), and in fifth was Manchester with 107. North Adams, Peebles and WHS did not field a full team.

Winning the boys race was West Union's Jakeb Tadlock at 17:29.1.
Individual times for LC included: 3, Gage Waits, 18:21.4; 4, Quinn Stoltz, 18:23.9; 6, Noah Stoltz, 18:59.7; 7, Aaron Collins, 19:11.8; 13, Marc Blankenship, 20:45.6; 16, Ryan Inman, 21:19.2; and 17, Nicko Rowlands, 21:27.2. Also running for LC were Justin Gray (21:34.1), Colt Dunseith (21:57.9), Kevin Young (22:00.1), Aaron Little (22:00.6), Christian Inman (22:16.3) and Ty Setty (26:37.8).
Individual times for WHS included: Cody Feck (20:43.1) and Tyler Roberts (21:13.7).
In the middle school races, Manchester's Shyanne Tucker won the girls race with a time of 13:32.0. Lynchburg-Clay's Angela McLaughlin was second at 14:10, and in third was LC's Shelby Chisman at 14:17.5.
The LC team placed first in the middle school girls event with 30 points. Also running for the LC middle school girls team were: Emily Pinkerton, Makayla Binkley, Samantha Pierson, Alexis Waits, Carlee Smaltz and Kiah Tissandier.
Manchester won the boys middle school event with 20 points. Winning the race was Ethan Pennywitt at 12:16.9. The Whiteoak Middle School team was third, and LC was fourth.
