The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats are sectional champions once again, defeating Western Latham, 10-0 in a run-rule victory on the Division IV SE District Sectional Finals.
No. 2 seeded Whiteoak will face No. 3 seeded Racine Southern on Thursday, May 21 at Minford at 6 p.m. in their district semifinal game. Southern defeated Waterford on Thursday by a 12-1 score in their sectional final.
The win by the Lady 'Cats was their 14th shutout of the season, moving them to 21-1 overall. The reigning Southern Hills Athletic Conference Division II champion capped off the run-rule on Thursday with a walk-off by Jayde Parr.
For WHS in the sectional final, they scored their first run with Jaycie Parr crossing home plate. She reached the bases on a infield error. Parr went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In the second inning, WHS added five more runs for a six-run advantage. Runners who scored that inning were Jaycie Parr, Chelsea Chisman, Ashlyn Moore, Courtney Gross and Hayley Nace. WHS had 10 batters in the inning.

WHS put one run on the board in the third with Ashlyn Moore scoring, and in the fourth Alexis Jones scored a run for a 8-0 score.
In the fifth, Nace and Kiley Sosby rounded the bases for the ninth and 10th runs of the game.
WHS ended the game with a total of eight hits.
In the circle, Sosby struck out the first three batters she faced in the first inning on 10 pitches.
She allowed the only hit by Latham to lead off the second inning, and in the third she struck out the side in the third batter she faced on 11 pitches.
Sosby did the same in the fourth with three straight strikeouts on 10 pitches. In the fifth, Sosby retired three consecutive batters with a line out to first and two final strikeouts.
The WHS senior pitcher went all five innings, allowing no runs on one hit and no walks. Sosby struck out 12, three on called third strikes. She threw just 53 pitches, 47 for strikes.
Latham was a No. 7 seed.
