Lady 'Cats volleyball ends year in district semifinal

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats ended their season Wednesday evening at Jackson High School as they fell in three sets to No. 2 seeded Beaver Eastern in their Division IV SE District Semifinal match in the Jackson 1 bracket.

WHS ends the year with 12 wins.

Beaver Eastern (Pike) is the OHSVCA No. 7 ranked team in the state and have yet to lose a match this season with 24-plus wins on the year.  

Scores from the match were: 25-2, 25-14 and 25-6.

Seniors for WHS this season included: Morgan Lehr, Brandy McClure, Molly Oliver, Mikayla Burns, Christine Hamilton and Kayla Cook.

WHS went 1-1 in the postseason, winning their second straight sectional title last week when they defeated Portsmouth Notre Dame in five sets.

The Lady 'Cats were a No. 6 seed in their bracket.

Beaver Eastern will play in the district finals on Saturday, Oct. 27 at JHS when they face No. 1 South Webster at 4 p.m. South Webster defeated Glouster Trimble in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-19 and 25-14, Wednesday.[[In-content Ad]]
