Lady 'Cats top Greyhounds

Thanks to scoring runs in the second, third and fourth innings, along with on-point pitching, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats earned their third win of the season Thursday evening, as they defeated the Manchester Lady Greyhounds, 4-2.

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference win by the Lady 'Cats came off scoring from the second through fourth innings, with WHS adding one run in the second, one in the third and two in the fourth.

The Greyhounds, in a game played at WHS, scored two runs in the fourth inning.

Gaining the win was Kiley Sosby, as the sophomore struck out a lucky 13 batters. In seven innings, Sosby allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk as she faced 27 batters.

WHS collected six hits with Ashleigh Harless, Sosby, Mikayla Burns, Jayde Parr, Mickey Wescott and Kendra Parker gaining a hit each.

The two Lady 'Cat RBIs went to Harless, while the two walks went to Christine Hamilton and Sosby.

WHS struck out just four times.

The Lady Cats will play again on Friday as they travel to Ripley at 5 p.m. in SHAC play.
