Lady 'Cats split tri-DH over weekend

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats split a tri-doubleheader on Saturday, defeating South Point, 1-0 and falling to Minford, 5-2.
In the win against South Point, it was WHS who scored the lone run in the eighth inning, with Kiley Sosby scoring the game-winning run off a home run.
Sosby finished the win with a 4-for-4 day at the plate, including the walk-off home run and a double. WHS totaled five hits, as Caitlyn Arledge had the other hit for WHS.
Megan Dodds also reached base for WHS as she was hit by a pitch.
Sosby was also the winning pitcher, tossing a one-hitter, while allowing no runs and striking out 17 in eight innings.
In their loss to Minford, it was Minford who scored first for the 1-0 lead after the first inning.

From there, WHS took a 2-1 advantage in the fifth, but it didn't last long as MHS scored one run in the bottom of the inning for a 2-2 score.
MHS scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the three-run win.
Sosby was charged with the loss.
She pitched six innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and no walks. Sosby finished with 14 strikeouts.
At the plate, WHS totaled two hits with Sosby and Morgan Thompson each having one. Thompson's hit was a double, as she had two RBIs, scoring Kayla Smallwood and Jayde Parr. Parr reached the bases with a walk.
