Lady 'Cats split recent games

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats split recent basketball games, as they defeated Manchester and lost to North Adams.
Against Manchester on Nov. 30, the Lady ’Cats and Lady Greyhounds were tied at 9-9 after the first frame, but WHS countered in the second quarter with a 16-point effort, while holding Manchester to 10 points for a 25-19 lead at halftime.
In the third, WHS outscored their hosts, 21-8, and in the final frame, the Lady ’Cats added eight more points, while holding MHS to seven for the 20-point win.
Emma Wardlow led WHS with 20 points, including one 3-pointer, followed by Michaela Luman with 12 points and 10 points from Maggie Carr.

Also for the Lady ‘Cats, Lexi Jones scored five points, Chelsea Chisman totaled four points and Ashleigh Harless finished with three points in the win.
WHS finished 13-of-21 from the free-throw line, while Manchester went 4-of-9. MHS was led by Morgan Johnson with a game-high 21 points, including two 3-pointers.
On Nov. 24, the Lady ‘Cats faced North Adams and lost by a 68-41 score.
WHS was led in scoring by Wardlow with 12 points, while Harless was next with nine points and Jones with seven. Carr finished with six points in the loss, and Luman totaled three points. Scoring two points each were Chisman and Morgan Thompson.
North Adams was led by Avery Harper with 23 points and Staci Dinsmore with 16 points. NAHS was 8-of-13 from the free-throw line, and WHS went 10-of-14. At halftime, WHS trailed 38-23.
