Lady 'Cats defeat Manchester; Sosby throws 1-hitter

Whiteoak junior Kiley Sosby did a lot of everything Thursday, as the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats defeated the Manchester Lady Greyhounds, 5-1 for a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory.

With her seven strikeouts, Sosby recorded her 300th strikeout of the season, giving her over 800 for her varsity career. Sosby also hit her team-high eighth home run of the 2014 season at Manchester.

For the Lady 'Cats and MHS, the score was tied at 1-1 after the first inning, but two two-run innings in the fifth and seventh put WHS ahead for good.

In total, the Lady 'Cats collected seven hits and committed just two errors.

Jaycee Parr, Jayde Parr, Misty McClure and Caitlyn Arledge each had one hit, with Jaycee Parr and Arledge each scoring a run.

Ashleigh Harless also scored one run. Jayde Parr and Harless each had one RBI to their overall totals.

Sosby finished 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI. Sosby was also the winning pitcher, allowing just one hit in seven innings. Sosby allowed one run (unearned) and walked none. She finished with the aforementioned seven strikeouts.
