Lady 'Cats bow out of postseason

The season of the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats came to an end Thursday evening as they were defeated by the Notre Dame Lady Titans, 74-58 in their Division IV SE District Sectional final.

Leading WHS in scoring was freshman Emma Wardlow with 24 points, followed by Emily Stratton with 12 points. Wardlow, in 23 games this season, finishes with 305 points (13.3 points per game).

The Lady 'Cats were 7-of-25 from the free-throw line in the loss at McDermott High School.[[In-content Ad]]

Notre Dame moves to the district semifinal with an overall record of 22-1 overall, as they went 14-0 in the Southern Ohio Conference.

In the first round of the postseason, the Lady 'Cats defeated Green, 62-41. The Lady 'Cats' other two wins came during the regular season against Western Latham (45-40) and West Union (73-68).

Playing her final game for WHS was senior Clarissa Johnson.

WHS finishes the season at 3-20 overall, with a Southern Hills Athletic Conference mark of 1-12.
