Kiley Sosby pitches 2nd perfect game of season
For a player like Whiteoak senior Kiley Sosby, it is tough for her to trump the accomplishments she's already achieved while being a four-year pitcher for the Lady Wildcats.
On Saturday, she might have done just that with her second perfect game of the season, this time against the South Central Ohio League's Miami Trace Lady Panthers.
At WHS on Saturday, Sosby in Game 1 not only did not allow a hit or walk, but she struck out 15 batters in the process (she faced 21) of perfect game No. 2. Sosby threw 72 pitches, 57 for strikes, as 11 of her 15 strikeouts were swinging strikeouts.
In her first perfect game this season against West Union, she struck out 14 of the 15 batters she faced.

In the 6-0 WHS win in the first of two meetings against the Lady Panthers, the Lady Cats scored one run in the first, four in the fifth and one last run in the sixth inning.
Alexis Jones was 3-for-4 at the plate for WHS, with one run and two RBIs. Sosby, Ashleigh Harless, and Chelsea Chisman each had two hits.
Jayde Parr had one hit and one RBI, while Caitlyn Arledge, Jaycie Parr and Courtney Gross each had one hit in the win.
In the second game, WHS won by a 9-1 score with six of the Lady 'Cats' runs rounding the bases in the third inning. They followed that with a two-run fourth and one-run fifth.
WHS ended the second game with 15 hits.
Sosby was the leading hitter for WHS at 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Jones, Jayde Parr, Chisman and Arledge each collected two hits. Jones and Arledge each had two RBIs, while Parr had one.
Leading WHS in RBIs in the second game was Chisman with three and also scoring one run. Also scoring runs in the win were: Sosby, Jaycie Parr, Harless, Jayde Parr, Arledge and Ashlyn Moore.
The pitching win went to Sosby for her second win of the day. In seven innings, she allowed no earned runs on three hits and no walks. This game, she struck out 18 batters, giving her 33 strikeouts on the day in the combined two games.
