Kiley Sosby officially signs with Bowling Green State University
MOWRYSTOWN — In front of many friends, family and supporters, Whiteoak senior Kiley Sosby made her decision to join the Bowling Green State University official on Thursday (Nov. 13) at Whiteoak High School.
The two-time All-Ohio pitcher signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Division I program, thanking all of those involved in her path to become a Division I pitcher in the Mid-American Conference.
Sosby, who will be a four-year starting pitcher for the Lady Wildcats when spring arrives, finished with 311 strikeouts her junior season, and for her first three high school seasons, the ace has collected 877 strikeouts.
Also during her season as a junior with Whiteoak, Sosby had an 0.82 ERA in 153.23 innings.
After signing her letter of intent, Sosby said she was pleased with her decision.
"I just want to thank everyone for coming here (Thursday) and showing their support. They've been great all the way throughout."
During the summer months, Sosby played for the Ohio Outlaws Premier team, pitching 131.2 innings. In those innings in the circle, the standout hurler went 19-1 while tallying 218 strikeouts.
This past summer, Sosby finished with a 0.74 ERA.
Earlier this year, Sosby spoke about her commitment to BGSU.
"I had always wanted to be at a school that I could make an immediate impact to their program," Sosby told The Highland County Press. "After talking to the coaching staff and having an unofficial visit, I knew that it was the right fit for me and BGSU.
"When I asked other college players I have talked to over the past several years how did they know if it was the right choice, they all responded the same with 'You will know, it will just feel right.'"
