Haines, Lady Indians win Highland County Invitational

For the sixth time in seven years, the Hillsboro Lady Indians are champions of the Highland County Invitational.

HHS won the event with the Lady Indians taking the first five spots of the event, with sophomore Reaghan Haines leading them with a first-place finish of 21:15 to win the event. Last year, Haines finished in second place.

[[In-content Ad]]In second was senior Alissa Hauke at 21:56, and in third was Caitlin Ahrmann, a freshman, with a time of 22:02. Fourth and fifth place went to freshman Megan Kinsey at 22:46 and sophomore Ceairra Neal at 22:54, respectively.

HHS won the team title with a total low-score of 15 points. WHS was second and the only other school to have a team score with a 48.

Also for HHS in their top seven were Madi St. Clair and Caitlin Foley.

For the Lady Wildcats, their leading runners were Taylor Tackett, Morgan Thompson, Maggie Carr, Ashleigh Harless, Courtney Cummings, Regan Bohrer and Kiley Sosby.

The remaining Top 10 runners in the event included: Lynchburg-Clay junior Morgan Fittro (23:49), McClain senior Sarah Davis (24:31), Tackett (24:38), St. Clair (24:51) and Foley (24:56).

There were a total of 20 girls in the race.
