Fairfield softball wins recent games against Whiteoak, Ripley
The Fairfield Lady Lions shut out the Ripley Lady Blue Jays by a 10-0 score in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game play on Thursday at Fairfield. The Lady Lions’ victory was their fourth in as many days against SHAC opponents with three being shutout wins.
Kaiti White was nearly perfect in the circle taking a perfect game into the final inning. Joy Eichner singled to left field as Lady Lion left fielder Madi Fox made a diving attempt at the sinking line drive and the only hit of the game for the Lady Blue Jays. White picked up her eighth win of the season, six of them of the shutout variety.
Again, the Lady Lions offense supplied plenty of runs while collecting 12 hits. Carli Reiber, White, Lauren Arnold and Megan Gragg each had two hits, as Lyndee Spargur, Layla Hattan, Taylor Lawson and Fox each added a hit.
After White struck out the side in order in the top of the first inning, the Lady Lions scored three runs in the bottom of the inning. Spargur singled, Reiber drew a base on balls, White doubled and Hattan drove in a run on a ground ball error.
Fairfield added four more runs in the bottom of the second inning. Gragg singled to lead off the inning, Fox had a bunt single, Reiber had a bunt single, White singled and Arnold singled.

The Lady Lions completed the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Reiber doubled, Hattan singled, Arnold singled and Lawson singled.

The Fairfield Lady Lions blanked the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats 13-0 in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game played at Whiteoak High School in Mowrystown, Wednesday.
The Lady Lions offense collected 20 hits in the five inning contest. Taylor Lawson and Molly Thackston led the offensive barrage with three hits each and Kaiti White picked up her sixth shutout of the season, while the defense of FHS committed no errors.
FHS wasted no time scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. Lyndee Spargur was safe on an error. That was followed with Carli Reiber gaining a bunt single, along with Kaiti White and Layla Hattan hitting into fielder’s choices.
Lauren Arnold doubled to drive in a run, Lawson singled to drive in a run and Thackston doubled to drive in the third run of the inning.
Fairfield added another run in the top of the second inning on singles by Madi Fox, Spargur, White, and Hattan.
The Lady Lions erupted for seven runs in the top of the third inning on five hits. In the inning, Lawson doubled, Thackston tripled, Fox singled, Spargur singled, Reiber singled, Lawson singled and Thackston singled.
Fairfield added a run in the top of the fourth inning as Hattan singled home Spargur. Fairfield completed the scoring with a run in the top of the fifth inning. Emily Williams came off the bench and delivered a pinch hit single to left field and eventually scored following a double by Spargur and a fielder’s choice by Reiber.
Whiteoak put the ball in play, but Fairfield played outstanding defense. White scattered three hits while striking out six batters.
Leading hitters for the Lady Lions: Spargur (2-for-3, double, one run), Reiber (2-for-5, two runs, two RBI), White (2-for-4, one run, one RBI), Hattan (2-for-4, two runs, one RBI), Arnold (2-for-4, double, one run, one RBI), Lawson (3-for-4, double, one run, two RBI), Thackston (3-for-3, triple, one run, three RBI), Gragg (0-for-3, one RBI), Fox (2-for-3, two runs), Hayleigh Lowe (1-for 2, double, one run) and Williams (1-for-1, double, one run).
Alex Greene, Courtney Gross and Sydnie Raines all had singles for Whiteoak.
White was the winning pitcher for Fairfield, pitching five innings. She allowed no runs on three hits and no walks. White totaled six strikeouts.
Gross suffered the loss for Whiteoak. She pitched three innings allowing 15 hits, 11 runs (five earned) with no and six strikeouts. Greene pitched two innings of relief. She allowed five hits and two runs (one earned run), along with no walks and two strikeouts.
