The boys of 'spring' take the field

The Hillsboro Indians hosted the Whiteoak Wildcats Friday evening in their first scrimmage of the spring.

With the temperatures rising to 42 degrees on the second day of spring, the Highland County counterparts were able to finally get onto the field at Shaffer Park following a week of cold weather and some snowfall.

Both teams are scheduled to have scrimmages on Saturday afternoon, with Whiteoak traveling to Zane Trace at 11 a.m., while HHS will host a scrimmage against North Central at Shaffer Park, starting at 10 a.m.

The regular season for both teams will begin on Saturday, March 30 as they will be hosting Williamsburg at noon in a non-conference doubleheader.

Hillsboro will open their season on Saturday, March 30 as they will travel to Clermont Northeastern at noon for a doubleheader in non-league play.
