Blanchester snaps Whiteoak winning streak

With the Southern Hills Athletic Conference slate wrapped up, the Whiteoak Wildcats shifted their focus to tuning up for the postseason, and in that, they ran into a very tough Blanchester team.
Blanchester defeated the Wildcats of WHS, snapping a 12-game winning steak, by a 6-0 score in non-conference play, as BHS stays undefeated against Division III and Division IV teams this season.
The loss drops WHS to 18-6 overall.
Blanchester (20-4) scored one run in the first, followed by two runs in the second. BHS added three runs in the sixth.
"Offensively, we were not aggressive enough first pitch, or with two strikes, because six strikeouts looking is unacceptable," WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. "Defensively, nine freebies is too much against a quality team, or any team, for that matter. Five freebies in the sixth really put us behind the eight ball."

Gage Carraher led WHS at the plate, going 2-for-4. Zach Docter and Jesse Bradds each had one hit, as Docter's hit went for a double.
Docter was also the losing pitcher. The senior, who moves to 3-3 overall, pitched all seven innings, allowing six earned runs on seven hits and four walks. He struck out two.
WHS left the bases loaded in the sixth inning and left 11 runners total stranded.
"We had our chances, but we just lacked the clutch hit," Veidt said. "It was a good tournament tune-up against a quality Division III opponent.
"Zach made some nice pitching adjustments on the fly. Gage and Jesse looked comfortable at the plate."
WHS plays again on Saturday in a doubleheader at Oak Hill.
