'12 Fall All-Southern Hills League teams announced

Thirty-five Highland County student-athletes from Whiteoak, Lynchburg-Clay and Fairfield earned All-Southern Hills League honors for their performance on the athletic fields, courses or courts this fall for the 2012 season.

LC girls head coach Dennis West was named the SHL girls soccer Coach of the Year as LC won their second consecutive league title. This season, LC went 6-0-1 in league games. In the past two seasons, the Lady Mustangs are 13-0-1 in the SHL.

Also named Coach of the Year from Highland County teams in golf was LC coach Shawn McLaughlin, and Fairfield coach Raymond Friend was the boys cross-country Coach of the Year.

In terms of league championships, the Fairfield boys cross-country team, the LC girls soccer team and LC golf team all were league champions from Highland County.

Other league champions in the SHL this fall were Fayetteville (volleyball, Division II), North Adams (volleyball, Division I), Peebles (boys soccer) and Fayetteville (girls cross-country).
