Vote 'no' on Ohio Issue 1

To the editor:

“A woman has a right to abort her fetus.” “A mom has the right to kill her baby.”

Hmmm, same meaning, different wording. The first statement takes away the humanity of the baby. The second gives the baby and mom humanity.

I’m in a Bible study with friends on Monday evenings. For the past year and a half, we’ve been reading through the Bible together. Sadly, what we have seen over and over is that we are just as guilty as the Israelites of old who continually disobeyed God, were punished, called out to God to save them, then promptly disobeyed Him again. The pattern was repeated time and again. Also repeated in the Old Testament was the pagan ritual of child sacrifice. In the Old Testament, the pagan god Molech demanded child sacrifice from the Canaanites.

As far as I’m concerned, that is exactly what Issue 1 is all about. Abortion is child sacrifice. Don’t believe me? Have you ever watched an abortion? If you haven’t, I challenge you to do so. Go to YouTube and watch what happens to a baby during an abortion.

Did you know that after each abortion, the abortionist must gather all the parts of the baby that he has pulled from the mother’s womb? The abortionist gathers those parts to make sure that he/she didn’t leave a part inside the mother.

Abortion is child sacrifice. It is not health care. Health care is about saving lives. Abortion destroys lives – over 60 million in this county alone since 1973.

God have mercy on this country.

I know what is being said:

• Abortion needs to be legal to save the life of the mother.

• Abortion needs to be legal in cases of rape and incest.

I totally understand those arguments. Both are protected. Don’t buy the lie that says they are not.

We who are pro life have been called liars when we mention the fact that under Issue 1 parents will lose their rights of consent if their daughters want abortions or their children want to change genders. Take a look at the state above us. In 2022, Michigan had an issue similar to Issue 1 in Ohio. The issue passed in Michigan. All you have to do is read what is happening there now to see who was lying.

We who are pro life are being accused of taking away the care a mother would receive if she has a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy. No hospital or doctor would refuse care for either. If they did, they should be put out of business. Who is lying about miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies?

Abortion is big business. Gender transition is big business. The evil of abortion against unborn children and the evil of gender transition against born children both have defiled God’s creation. We must not allow what is essentially child sacrifice to become constitutionally protected in Ohio. This is beyond bad policy. This is pure evil.

Please vote "no" on Issue 1.

Sincerely,
Cathy Griffith

Recently was all over the news. 13 year old Ohio child impregnated by rape had to go to Indiana for the abortion . It was illegal here . Now the Indiana doctor who treated her is facing possible prosecution.

I want to suggest to Cathy that she reads the current Heartbeat law in Ohio. There are no exceptions.

In October, 2022, a judge granted an injunction against the Heartbeat Law in Ohio. Sadly, abortion is still legal in Ohio through 22 weeks of a pregnancy. I find it sad that the argument is always about rape and incest. Both are horrible, heinous crimes and the rapists should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But, little to no thought is given to over 60 million lives lost through abortion since 1973; imagine the potential of each life lost. God have mercy on this country and our callousness toward those who cannot defend themselves.

We could argue about this until the Lord returns. You’re not going to change my mind and I doubt I will change yours. However, Issue 1 goes beyond what even some who are pro-choice are comfortable with. Follow the money. If abortion were not big business, it wouldn’t even be an issue.
