UPDATED: Widespread power outage reported in Greenfield

More than 2,500 customers of AES were without power today in Greenfield. 

An outage reported at approximately 7:20 am. 

Greenfield Exempted Village School District sent students home early. However, Buckskin Elementary and Rainsboro Elementary remained in session, according to GEVS Superintendent Quincey Gray. 

McClain High School had to cancel the home-opener girls basketball game this evening, according to MHS Principal Matthew Shelton.

Many Greenfield businesses were forced to close today. 

The Village of Greenfield has been in touch with AES concerning the outage.
