  • Highland Amateur Radio Association Field Days June 22-23

    On the June 22-23 weekend, members of the Highland Amateur Radio Association will gather on the front and east lawns of the Highland County Historical Society-owned Scott House to exhibit amateur radio and its benefits to the community and public. They will be participating in a North American disaster preparedness training exercise called “Field Day.”
  • Local amateur radio club to represent Ohio in national event
    The Clark County club honored Highland County’s Highland Amateur Radio Association with an invitation to become Ohio’s second “state activator.”
  • Amateur Radio Club holds annual dinner meeting
    Highland Amateur Radio Association Club President Ken Lightner recently welcomed approximately 75 members and guests to the club’s annual meeting and Christmas Dinner Party at the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church.
  • Local amateur radio club to promote Rocky Fork Lake nationwide
    On Saturday, Sept. 9, a group of Highland County amateur radio operators will assemble at the abandoned Fisherman’s Wharf concession stand to participate in the 16 annual Ohio State Parks On The Air amateur radio operating event.  
  • Rep. Johnson introduces Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act
    “I reintroduced the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act to remove barriers to disaster and emergency communications and training, and to promote education in STEM subjects related to critically needed wireless technology,” Rep. Bill Johnson said. “Passage of this bill will promote developing and sustaining our nation’s wireless future and facilitate and encourage amateur radio operations as a public benefit.”
  • Highland Amateur Radio Association brunch June 10 at Liberty Park
    The Highland Amateur Radio Association will hold their monthly “Brunch Bunch” coffee gathering on Saturday, June 10 according to Club President Ken Lightner. Lightner states the event is normally held at the Hillsboro Burger King during the winter, but now will move to the Harmony Lake shelterhouse at Hillsboro’s Liberty Park until fall.
