Ohio Sea Grant and Stone Laboratory, along with education partners across South Bass Island, will host Lake Erie Awareness Day on Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at eight locations, including the South Bass Island Lighthouse, Oak Point State Park, Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce, Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial, Cooper’s Woods Preserve, the Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center, and South Bass Island State Park.

Five Ohio educators from across the state have been selected to be a part of the 2024 Shipboard Science Workshop on Lake Erie.

Starting Thursday, June 6, the public can join Stone Lab for its webinar presentations every Thursday from 7-8 p.m. this summer.

This summer, in addition to the return of science and history tours of Gibraltar Island and the South Bass Island Lighthouse, Ohio Sea Grant and Stone Lab are also introducing all-new Put-In-Bay Science Days. Put-In-Bay Science Days will be free events open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from June 7 to July 27.

The Ohio Clean Marinas team, consisting of a partnership between the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and the Ohio Sea Grant College Program, hosted the 8th annual Ohio Marina Conference on Thursday, Feb. 29, at Maumee Bay State Park Lodge and Convention Center.
