U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem ended temporary protections this month for nationals from Nicaragua and Honduras, opening up roughly 76,000 people to deportations by early September.
A federal jury convicted Juan Orlando Hernández, also known as JOH, 55, of Honduras, on all three counts in an indictment, which included cocaine-importation and weapons offenses. Hernández is scheduled to be sentenced on June 26.
