The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigations Bureau continues to investigate a significant fire incident that occurred Saturday, June 8 at 8755 State Route 638 in Belle Center (Logan County) and resulted in approximately 44 equine deaths.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced Monday that $5 million is now available to support local governments and eligible non-profit organizations impacted by the tornados in Logan and Auglaize counties on March 14, 2024. 

Governor Mike DeWine announced that Indian Lake State Park will reopen Friday, March 29 following damage from the tornado and severe storms that struck Logan County on March 14.

Red Cross volunteers and staff have been on the ground since the deadly tornadoes struck on March 14, working tirelessly with community partners to help the individuals and families impacted by these storms. Anyone affected by the central Ohio tornadoes, and needing assistance, should call 1-800-RedCross.

The Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA) continues to monitor the severe weather that impacted western Ohio on Thursday. This was an extremely dangerous weather system. The Ohio EMA, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are working together to assist local communities in the path of the storms.  

Judge Kevin P. Braig of the Logan County Court of Common Pleas recently sentenced Brad E. Doseck, 43, of Dayton to 16 to 20 years in prison on two aggravated trafficking in drugs convictions, both felonies of the second degree. The prison term was the maximum term Doseck was eligible to receive under Ohio law.

Logan County Court of Common Pleas Judge Kevin P. Braig recently sentenced Tiffany Haynes, 35, of Lakeview to a six- to nine-year prison term on her convictions on charges of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a felony of the second degree, and aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the third degree.
