Dexter Bass earned his bachelor’s degree from Ashland University behind bars. The 60-year-old was sentenced to prison in 1990 for murder and was recently granted parole. Before prison, his highest academic attainment was graduating high school.
The 179th Airlift Wing will conduct a historic redesignation ceremony to officially become the 179th Cyberspace Wing Saturday, Sept. 9 at 3 p.m. at the Mansfield Lahm Air National Guard Base in Mansfield, Ohio.
