The McClain Tigers evened their season record to 2-2 on the season after a 9-5 victory over non-conference foe Franklin Furnace Green Friday night on Tom Hixson Field in Greenfield.

A Franklin Furnace resident was given a 23-28.5-year prison sentence following a four-day jury trial in front of Judge Mark Kuhn of the Scioto County Court of Common Pleas concluding on Feb. 23. 

State Senator Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) announced that Franklin Furnace in Scioto County will receive a $500,000 grant for improving flood and drainage infrastructure on Old U.S. 52 and Gervais Road.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman reports that his 9-1-1 Communication Center received a call on Monday, Aug. 21 at approximately 5:48 p.m., from a property owner on Big Doney Road in Green Township. The property owner stated that he went to check on his property, and there were squatters that should not be there.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman states that Southern Ohio Medical Center contacted his office on Wednesday, July 26, advising of a patient that was brought in for treatment and that there were concerns of possible abuse.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman reports that on July 10 at approximately 6:52 p.m. his Emergency 911 Communications Center received a call from a woman stating that a suspect had allegedly forced his way into her house on Bussey Road in Wheelersburg.
