A joint indictment charging a Hillsboro man and Seaman woman with endangering children and assault was among the 18 indictments handed down by a Highland County grand jury Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The local Lady Mambas seventh grade 13U AAU select basketball team battled in the 2024 Beavercreek Tournament but fell in the finals to Kentucky Storm Elite, 46-38.

A federal grand jury has indicted four Ecuadorian nationals with crimes related to stealing jewelry and Apple products at retail centers in multiple states to then resell the items on the black market.

As the investigation into the Nov. 20 shooting at the Walmart in Beavercreek, Ohio, continues, the FBI and the Beavercreek Police Department are providing an investigative update.

The Beavercreek Police Department dispatch center received the first 911 call of a male who walked into a store with a Hi-Point .45-caliber carbine long gun on Nov. 20 at 8:36 p.m. As the dispatcher was gathering information, the caller stated the man, later identified as 20-year-old Benjamin Charles Jones, of Dayton, allegedly began shooting.

A Beavercreek woman was sentenced to community control recently after pleading guilty to felony charges in three separate Highland County cases.
