Susan Irene (Williamson) Cook
Susan Irene (Williamson) Cook, 72, of Martinsville, passed away Sept. 18, 2023 at the St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington Court House.
She was born Nov. 3, 1950, the daughter of the late Samuel H. Williamson and Louella (Arledge) Williamson, being the baby of seven children.
Susan worked for the Clinton County Courthouse for 13 years, while cleaning houses on the side. When she married Michael in 1987, she became a housewife and took care of her family. She was married to Michael Cook in 1968 and again in 1987, having combined four children, Melissa (Greg) Edwards of Kentucky, Michele Cook of Martinsville, Michael (Kim) Cook of Wilmington and Melinda (Kevin) Wilson of Martinsville; giving her a total of 11 grandchildren, whom she loved more than the stars, Cathi (Tim) Hopkins of Wisconsin, Matthew J. Cook of Wilmington, Bryce A. Edwards of Kentucky, Trent A. Cook, Emily L. Cook and Lindsey G. Cook, all of Wilmington, Margret L. Cook of Martinsville, Michael J. Cook of Martinsville, Kassandra A. Watson of Martinsville, Kevin Wilson Jr. of Xenia and Miranda Wilson of Kentucky; giving her three great-grandbabies, Elliana Hopkins, Bella Wilson and Zeppelin Ormes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Louella Williamson; the best in-laws (parents), Clarence and Koneta Cook; her husband, Michael Cook; all her siblings, Russel Williamson, Herber Williamson, Harry Williamson, Dorothy Chaney, Mabel Lakes and Dale Williamson; two nephews, Terry Williamson and Byron Workman; brothers-in-law, Stephen Cook, Carl Moon, Al Lakes, Ron Dougan and Richard Workman; and sister-in-law, Sara Workman.
