State Senator Shane Wilkin (R-Hillsboro) honored the remarkable accomplishments of Jackson High School senior Makennah Craft, who won her fourth straight state wrestling championship. She won the 100-pound class championship match at the Schottenstein Center in March.
"This incredible young lady is a powerhouse who shattered all expectations by winning an unheard of fourth state title," said WIlkin. "Makennah has set an incredible example for girls and boys with her sensational work ethic. Working out three times a day has really paid off by putting her in a league of her own."
Making Craft’s championships even more impressive is the fact there are no divisions in the Ohio Girls State Wrestling Tournament, meaning she competed against girls from much larger schools.
She was undefeated in the 2024-25 season, finishing with a 44-0 record.
Senator Shane Wilkin represents the 17th District in the Ohio Senate, which encompasses Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Vinton counties, as well as part of Perry County. Learn more at https://www.ohiosenate.gov/members/shane-wilkin.
