In repeat fashion, following another invitational win, this time at Muskingum University on Saturday, Wilmington College’s JJ Durr received this week's Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Field Athlete of the honor, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Durr (West Lafayette, Ohio/Ridgewood HS) won the weight throw at the Muskie Meet in New Concord, Ohio with a throw of 19.76m. Durr's throw was over three-and-a-half meters, or about 12 feet, further than the next Division III competitor from another school. This mark is a new program record and facility record.
Durr is currently the number-one competitor in the nation at Division III in the weight throw. The selections for the National Championships, held March 14 and 15 in Rochester, N.Y., take the top 22 competitors in the country for this event.
Durr will be competing next for the Quakers at the Joe Banks Invitational at Ohio Northern University Friday.
