The University of Dayton football team will open the 2024 season at home when the Flyers host Saint Francis on Saturday, Aug. 31.

UD will begin the year with games against scholarship programs in all three non-conference games – Saint Francis of the Northeast Conference, Indiana State of the Missouri Valley and Ave Maria of the Sun Conference.

Following the opener at home with Saint Francis on Aug. 31, the Flyers have an open week on the schedule. UD will then play at Indiana State on Sept. 14 and host Ave Maria on Sept. 21.

Dayton will begin the quest for its 13th Pioneer Football League championship on Saturday, Sept. 28 when the Flyers are at Marist. After another open week, UD will host Davidson Oct. 12. Dayton will play at Butler on Oct. 19.

The Flyers are back at Welcome Stadium on Oct, 26 against Morehead State. UD opens the final month of the season at Presbyterian on Nov. 2, plays back-to-back home games against San Diego (Nov. 9) and Valparaiso (Nov. 16) before closing the regular season at St. Thomas on Nov. 23.

The first round of the FCS playoffs will be on Saturday, Nov. 30.

UD will play six home games and five on the road this fall. UD has three non-conference games on the schedule, and eight games in the Pioneer Football League. With 11 members in the PFL, the two teams Dayton will not play this year are charter member Drake and Stetson.

Dayton was 4-7 in Coach Trevor Andrews's first season, closing out the year with a 35-6 win at home over Marist and a 45-14 win at Davidson. The Flyers return 17 starters (nine offense, eight defense). Among them are nine players who earned All-Pioneer Football League accolades last fall, including center Dylan DeMaison, who was First Team All-PFL.

All game times for the 2024 season will be announced at a later date.
