Tigers win against Braves

GREENFIELD — The McClain Tigers won their second straight game in the final inning on Tuesday, defeating the Logan Elm Braves, 8-7.
With the game knotted up at seven going into the bottom of the seventh inning, Zach Uhl opened it with a walk. Dustin Taylor bunted Uhl to second, as he moved the runner over to scoring position.
With one out, Zack Mullikin drew a walk as he took first base.
Uhl and Mullikin then perfected a double steal, giving the Tigers two runners in scoring position, taking away the double play.
With the Braves' infield in, MHS senior Caleb Gregory hit a single up the middle to plate Uhl for the winning run.
Gregory led the Tigers with a 3-for-4 day at the plate. Gregory had a double and three RBIs. Jon Johnson, Uhl and Taylor each contributed with two hits.
Sophomore Tyler Neville pitched 5 2-3 innings and was relieved by Kyle Flora, Uhl and Jacob Dillon.
Dillon picked up the win for the Tigers as the pitcher of record.
MHS improves to 7-4 overall, with a South Central Ohio League record of 2-2. The Tigers will travel to Miami Trace on Wednesday for an SCOL contest at 5 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
