CHILLICOTHE - The McClain Tigers have sole possession of first place in the South Central Ohio League.

In their second game in consecutive days at VA Memorial Stadium, in Chillicothe, the Tigers proved that hard work and maximum effort pays off as they shut out SCOL rival Madison-Plains 2-0 to gain the top spot in the league with six SCOL games remaining.

The Tigers avenged a 3-2 loss in their SCOL opener last month at M-P.

MHS scored one goal in each half as Daniel White netted both goals for the Tigers, in one of the programs biggest victories.

"I am proud of the way the team played and controlled the field against a good Madison-Plains team," MHS coach Shawn Jackson said. "This is a big achievement for the school and the players. I am really proud of them."

The win lifts the Tigers to 7-1-1 overall, 5-1 in the SCOL.
