Tigers rout Adena for 3rd consecutive win

The McClain Tigers gained one of their best victories of the season Friday night as they returned from a six-day break with a 61-36 win over Adena for their third consecutive win.
MHS (4-3) has now defeated East Clinton, Lynchburg-Clay and AHS in consecutive games to jump over the .500 mark as they are set to host the Fairfield Lions Saturday night. Their other win this season was a season-opening win at Jackson.
All four Tiger wins have come on the road.
The Tigers led 15-10 after the first frame, and from there they led 31-19 at the half after allowing AHS (0-8) to score just nine points in the second frame. In the third, MHS again held the host Warriors to nine points while scoring 15 of their own.
In the final frame, MHS outscored the Warriors, 15-8.

The Tigers had three players with double-digit scoring as Thomas Schrader led all scorers with a game-high 18 points, followed by Brent Shannon with 14 points. Both Schrader and Shannon each made two 3-pointers.
Ryan Faulconer totaled 10 points.
Also scoring for the Tigers were Trevor Gossett with two points and John Turner totaling seven. Mikel Pritchard and Evan Mustard each finished with four. Jeremiah Savage and Philip Thompson each made a free throw.
MHS was 20-of-27 (74 percent) from the free-throw line, as they also collected 22 rebounds, 12 steals and 10 assists. They committed 18 turnovers. AHS totaled 19 rebounds, five steals and four assists. The host team had 24 turnovers.
For the Warriors, they were led in scoring by Mike Bryant with 14 points. Jon Thomas added nine points.
AHS had 21 fouls, and MHS committed 19 fouls.
