Tigers have SCOL winning streak snapped

MT. STERLING — The McClain Tigers saw their four-game South Central Ohio League winning streak come to an end Monday, falling to the Madison-Plains Golden Eagles, 8-1 at MPHS.
 
For the Tigers, they were led by Zack Puckett, who was 2-for-3 with two triples, as the lone MHS run came in the fourth inning.
 
The Golden Eagles (4-2, 4-4) scored in every inning except the fourth inning.[[In-content Ad]]The loss on the mound was charged to Kyle Flora, who pitched five innings, with five strikeouts. Flora allowed seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and one walk. Kyle Duff pitched one inning of relief, allowing one unearned run.
 
With the loss, MHS falls to 5-11 overall and 4-3 in the SCOL.
 
MHS will play again on Tuesday when they will face Northwest High School at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe.
