Tigers gain 4th SCOL win of season; defeat Blue Lions

It's three straight wins for the McClain Tigers, as they defended their home court Friday night, by defeating the Washington Blue Lions, 63-49.
The South Central Ohio League win by the Tigers is their third straight victory, all in the league, as they improve to 4-9 in the SCOL and 8-12 overall.

As for the Tigers, they fended off the Blue Lions in the first quarter as Washington didn't score until there was 5:22 left in the first, and didn't score again until the 5:43 mark in the second frame, off two free throws.
After the first quarter, where the Tigers led 15-2, the halftime score read 22-17 in favor of MHS. The Blue Lions did outscore the Tigers, 15-7 in the frame.
In the third, MHS won the frame, 16-13, and in the fourth, the Tigers broke out for 24 points, while Washington scored 18.
Leading the Tigers in scoring was Thomas Schrader with a game-high 19 points, followed by Ryan Faulconer with 15 and Brent Shannon with 13. Shannon made all three 3-pointers for the Tigers, and Faulconer collected a double-double by adding 11 rebounds.
Also scoring for MHS were John Turner with eight points, Tyler McGuire with six and Evan Mustard scoring two points.
Leading WCH were Tyler Slone with 13 points and Derek Shaw with 11, including two of the Blue Lions' 3-pointers.
The Tigers went 12-of-23 from the free-throw line (52 percent), while the Blue Lions went 5-of-7 (71 percent).
MHS also added 10 assists, 21 rebounds and four steals. The Blue Lions totaled 18 rebounds, 11 assists and five steals. The Tigers committed seven turnovers and 10 fouls, while WCH had 21 fouls and six turnovers.
The Tigers will play again next Friday when they host Madison-Plains in their final SCOL game of the regular season. MHS will wrap up the regular season next Saturday when they host Southeastern.
