Tigers earn SCOL win over Astros

The McClain Tigers scored in double figures all four quarters en route to their second South Central Ohio League win, defeating the East Clinton Astros, 56-45 Tuesday night.
McClain gains the season sweep over the Astros, as their previous win in the SCOL was a home win vs. EC by a 49-38 score.
On Tuesday at EC, the Tigers and Astros were even after the first frame by an 11-11 score, and MHS trailed by one point at the half at 23-22.
The Tigers (2-9, 6-12) changed the complexion of the game in the second half, as they took a 37-32 advantage off a 15-9 frame, as the game was tied for the ninth and final time at 25 points in the quarter.
In the fourth, the Tigers held on to their lead by outscoring EC, 19-13.

As for the MHS scoring, they were led by Brent Shannon with 14 points (two 3-pointers), and he was followed by Tyler McGuire with 13 points and Ryan Faulconer with 11 points.
Thomas Schrader added seven points, while John Turner scored six points. Evan Mustard scored four points, and Wyatt Jones made one free throw.
MHS went 14-of-22 from the free-throw line (64 percent), while EC was 11-of-21 (52 percent).
Leading the Astros (4-6, 8-10) in scoring was Dalton Floyd with a game-high 21 points. Hayden Knisley added 10 points.
MHS totaled 15 fouls (two players fouled out), 17 turnovers, while EC had 20 fouls and 20 turnovers.
The Tigers will travel to London on Friday night in SCOL play.
