Tigers drop 4th straight, fall to Falcons

GREENFIELD — The McClain Tigers dropped their fourth straight game on Friday, losing to visiting Clinton-Massie, 4-1 at Mitchell Park.
The loss drops the Tigers to 4-7 in the South Central Ohio League and 7-15 overall.
MHS senior Ryan Perie was the hard luck loser as he worked 5 2-3 innings for the Tigers and was relieved by Ryan Case in the sixth inning.
The duo combined for five strikeouts and one walk, allowing seven hits and just two earned runs.
McClain's woes at the plate continued as they garnered five hits in the contest. The lone bright spot was freshman Caleb Rayburn, who went 2-for-3 with a double. Junior Kyle Flora, along with freshmen Zach Puckett and Cameron Spangler, combined for the remaining Tiger hits.

MHS stranded eight runners in the game, while committing three errors.
"It is frustrating. We ran ourselves out of some innings, and passed balls were an issue against Clinton-Massie," McClain head coach Brandon Streitenberger said. "It seems like when you are struggling at the plate, every little defensive mistake or base-running error is magnified 100 times.
"Hitting cures a lot of ills, and we need to get healthy quick."
The Tigers host Miami Trace in their final SCOL contest on Monday at 5 p.m.
