Tigers defeat Wildcats, Indians; tie Red Raiders

In the past week, the McClain Tigers have battled in three games, winning two and tying one to gain a South Central Ohio League mark of 8-0-2.
The SCOL-leading Tigers most recently tied with the London Red Raiders 1-1 at London High School.
LHS led MHS 1-0 at the half.
In the second half, at the 17:21 mark, Luis Rivas scored the lone MHS goal, with the assist credited to Geoffrey Mitchell.
The SCOL game leaves four remaining for MHS, including a make-up game with the Red Raiders on Monday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at McClain Field.
"We played very well, and London came to play," MHS coach Shawn Jackson said.
"We told our kids we were OK, and we played tough and played with heart."

Jackson talked about it being a defensive game.
"This was a well-played defensive game," he said. "They (LHS) held us. This was just a back-and-forth game."

McClain 11, Blanchester 0
On Wednesday, Sept. 29, the Tigers defeated the Blanchester Wildcats 11-0 at McClain Field.
Sam Henry led the Tigers with an amazing five goals in the non-league game. Daniel White and Luis Rivas each had two goals.
Jimmy Free and Nick Rivas each had one goal.
Assists were credited to Luis Rivas (2), Nick Rivas (2), Geoffrey Mitchell, Jared White, Ben Chamblin, and Chris Parker.

McClain 4, Hillsboro 2
On Tuesday, Sept. 28, the Tigers defeated the Hillsboro Indians, 4-1 at Richards Memorial Field, in Hillsboro.
At halftime, MHS led 2-0.
First-half goals were scored by Daniel White and Sam Henry.
White dominated the second half with two goals, gaining a three-goal hat-trick for the SCOL contest.
Henry also had two assists.
