Tigers defeat Red Raiders for SCOL win

GREENFIELD — The McClain Tigers baseball team knocked off undefeated London, Wednesday by a 2-1 score at Mitchell Park for a South Central Ohio League win.
The Tigers (1-2, 2-7) rallied back from a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the fifth inning.
Kyle Flora started the Tiger rally with a two-out walk. Jordan Boles followed suit with another walk. The pair pulled off a double steal and were knocked in by a double off the bat of freshman Caleb Rayburn, as Rayburn gained the lone hit for the Tigers against LHS.
Those two runs proved to be all that starting pitcher Ryan Case needed to secure the win.
Case threw a gem for the Tigers, going the distance. Case faced 25 London batters, striking out six, walking three and allowing four hits. The lone Red Raider run came in the second inning.
"Case was brilliant today and had great defense behind him," MHS head coach Brandon Streitenberger said. "That's what it takes to beat good teams."
London falls to 6-1 overall, 3-1 SCOL. McClain improves to 2-7 overall, 1-2 SCOL.
McClain travels to Lynchburg on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tri-doubleheader against the Mustangs and Piketon.
