SSCC Patriots top WSU-Lake

HILLSBORO — The Southern State Patriots defeated Wright State University-Lake 104-82 on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Patriot Center.

Eight SSCC players scored in the win with SSCC leading 53-41 at halftime. Of those eight, five players scored at least 10 points each.

Leading SSCC was Kraig Unger with 21 points, followed by Tyler Knabb with 19 and Mark Ellison with 18 points. Tyler Jimison scored 15 points and Curt Wesp added 10 points.

Also scoring for the Patriots were Brandon Stace with nine points, Dennis Thomas with nine points and Rodney Peters with two points.

Of the 104 points scored by the Patriots, 42 of those points came via the 3-point shot.

Knabb had five 3-pointers (three in the first half, two in the second half), followed by Ellison with four three's (three in the first half). Unger had three 3-pointers and Thomas and Jimison each had one 3-pointer.

For the game, SSCC made 24 two-point baskets, the aforementioned 14 trey's and were 12-of-18 from the free-throw line.

Leading all scorers were WSU-Lakes' Ryan Payne with 22 and Kody Spade with 21 points. Tyler Schrodi had 17 points.[[In-content Ad]]
