Qualification

For Team USA, each skateboarder will need to be in the top 200 in the world and top-three for the U.S. The World Skate Rankings are listed HERE

Qualification scores will be based on:

• 33.3% World Skate Ranking 2022-May 2024

• 33.3% OQS Shanghai

• 33.3% OQS Budapest.

Scoring

OQS points are calculated in a numerical point-based scoring format. The higher the placement, the higher the scores – separate from athletes’ line scores, OQS points are scored from 0-100. Their OQS points will be from 0-210,000 (Park) and 0-260,000 (Street).

Competition

Park: Park skaters will have two runs of 45 seconds each. Winning runs usually feature between five to eight tricks. Runs are judged on five criteria: difficulty and variety of tricks performed, quality of execution, use of the course, flow and consistency, and repetition. The score of the highest run counts.

Street: In the qualifying rounds, street skaters will have two runs of 45 seconds each. Winning runs usually feature six to seven tricks. The final round is comprised of the trick portion. Athletes are allotted five trick attempts for two scores. One run score (100 points maximum) and two trick scores (each worth 100 points) will make up a total score of up to 300 for the winner.

How to Earn Quotas

For skateboarding, the point system is divided into three different parts. One-third of each athlete’s points are allocated from prior competitions, one-third from the OQS stop in Shanghai, and one-third from the OQS stop in Budapest. The combined points from all competitions will give the final rankings for quota allocation, with 88 total quotas (44 in each park and street).
