Lead Summary

The Highland County Press-
McClain gained a fourth South Central Ohio League win Monday, as they defeated the East Clinton Astros 4-2 at Mitchell Park.

The big inning for the Tigers came in the bottom of the sixth.

With two outs and the bases empty, Dylan Trefz was hit by a pitch. Devin Trefz and Shawn Haddox followed with walks to keep the inning going.

Brent Shannon, a senior, delivered a clutch hit with a shot up the middle, plating two runs for Tigers. Shannon led Tiger hitters at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three stolen bases.

Flora, a senior, went the distance for the Tigers. He struck out eight Astro batters while allowing no earned runs.

EC stands at 0-6 in the SCOL and 0-13 overall.

The Tigers (4-3, 6-7) travel to VA Memorial Stadium to take on the Vinton County Vikings for a 7 p.m. start in a non-league game. The Lady Tigers will play the first game at 5 p.m.
