In conjunction with the Prospect League, the Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, announced their 2025 game schedule Thursday. Chillicothe opens its 32nd season on the road at Johnstown Tuesday, May 27.
The Paints return to VA Memorial Stadium Thursday, May 29, for their home opener at 7:05 p.m. against the (Terre Haute) REX in a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference Championship. Along with $2 draft beer for Thirsty Thursday, there will also be a postgame fireworks show to celebrate the opening of a new season.
This season, the schedule features 56 regular-season games and four exhibitions, including 30 home contests for the Paints and 30 on the road. Chillicothe will play 11 of the other 17 Prospect League teams, including regular-season matchups with the O'Fallon Hoots and Cape Catfish for the first time in several seasons. The Paints also play Northeast Division rival Lafayette Aviators, Champion City Kings and Johnstown Mill Rats, as well as the (Terre Haute) REX, Normal CornBelters, Thrillville Thrillbillies, Danville Dans, Dubois County Bombers and last season's Prospect League Champion Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp.
The Prospect League's 2025 lineup features 18 teams from seven states, including the return of to-be-named Quincy Baseball Club in Quincy, Ill. For playoff purposes, Prospect League teams are divided into two conferences, each with two divisions, which have been realigned and renamed for the upcoming season:
The Paints play two-thirds of their schedule (40 of 60) within the Northeast Division, with 15 games against Lafayette, 13 versus Champion City and 12 against Johnstown.
