Post 10: Thursday, July 30, 2014: What teams are in store for the Washington Blue Lions?
Lead Summary

Last year, the Washington Blue Lions finished their season 5-5 overall with a 2-2 record at home and 3-3 road mark, but this season could possibly be a change back to over the .500 mark for the Blue Lions.
In 2013, the Blue Lions were 3-1 after their first four games of the season, then finished 2-4 in their final six games of the regular season. So it isn't a question if the Blue Lions are able to get off to a good start, because they showed last year they can, but it is what they do once they are deep into the schedule of the South Central Ohio League.
For the 2013 season, Washington scored 219 points and allowed 428.
[[In-content Ad]]Looking at their non-league schedule for the first three weeks of this upcoming regular season, the Blue Lions will start off the season at Sheridan, followed by a game vs. Circleville and then a game at Waverly.
From Weeks 3-10, the Blue Lions will be in the SCOL slate of games, with one game that stands out on the schedule being their league opener in Week 4 at East Clinton.
These two teams have basically had big scoring shootouts the past two seasons, and maybe it could happen again in '14, as that would make for a fun game for the fans to watch.
Last season against EC, the Blue Lions won 49-32, and in 2012, the score was 46-43 in favor of the Blue Lions.
Then there is always the Week 10 game when they face Fayette County rival Miami Trace, a game the Blue Lions last won in 2011. A lot can happen before that game, but it is still one game all fans of the SCOL have to be interested in because of the history of the rivalry of those two schools.
I'm also interested in seeing how the Blue Lions compete against Wilmington, Clinton-Massie and Chillicothe, because for all teams in the SCOL … if they want to get to the top of the league standings, those teams (along with Miami Trace) are the standard of the league.
Excluding Wilmington (they weren't in the SCOL last season), how teams play against Clinton-Massie, Chillicothe and Miami Trace will pretty much let you know where you stand in the SCOL. Don't believe me … look at the standings of the league from 2013.
From what I've been told about their offseason, I believe the Blue Lions can be an improved team, but that will become more clear once two-a-days and scrimmages begin within the next few weeks.
