"We started off very slow, and Lima couldn't miss the first 10 minutes of the game," SSCC head coach Blake Kibler said. "Our bench got things going for us. Zach did a very nice job coming off the bench and producing right away.
"The consistent play of Alec has been fun to watch. He had some big buckets for us in the first half to keep us going in the first half. This was a good win for us, but we still have a lot to improve on, especially our defense."
Coach Kibler spoke about improving on defense.
"We have to play defense on the ball better," he said. "We also need to play 40 minutes of basketball consistently."
The SSCC Patriots also had a moment of silence and dedicated this game to baby Lincoln Juillerat, who passed away suddenly New Year's morning at 4 months old. The players wore #P4L (Play4Lincoln) on the back of their shoes in honor of Lincoln Juillerat.
The Patriots are now 7-5 and play Miami-Hamilton Wednesday, Jan. 7 in Hamilton.
