Michael Pagano, Wilmington College, Press Release,

For the first time since 2004, the Wilmington College men’s soccer team had a player named an All-American by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) this afternoon. This player was sophomore Parker Burke, who was named to the Second Team and is the first All-American for the men’s soccer program since Chad Garman.

This caps off a historic season for Burke (Xenia, Ohio/Legacy Christian Academy), who was named First Team All-Region VII on Tuesday, the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Forward of the Year, and First Team All-OAC.

He scored 14 goals this season for the Quakers, despite being the No. 1 target of every opposing team’s defense, while also dishing out four assists for 32 points. He took 78 shots with 37 shots on goal and scored four game winners to help push the Quakers to an OAC Tournament semifinals appearance and a 13-5-3 overall record.

Burke had goals in 10 games this season, including a pair of multiple goal games and a four-goal game vs. Marietta College. He had three contests with three or more points.

Over his two seasons in a Quakers uniform, Burke scored 36 goals and dished out nine assists for 81 total points. He sits in a tie for third in career goals during the NCAA Era (since 1991) of Quakers soccer and is sixth in career points during the NCAA Era.
