Ohio State diver Ciara McGing has been selected to Team Ireland for the 2024 Paris Olympics, as announced by the federation last week.
McGing will represent Ireland in the women's 10-meter platform dive. This is the first career Olympic Games for McGing, who graduated from Ohio State this spring.
She is the eighth athlete with Ohio State swimming and diving ties to punch her ticket to the Olympics; current Buckeyes Lena Hentschel (Germany), Tomas Navikonis (Lithuania), Tristan Jankovics (Canada) and Alex Axon (Canada), former swimmers Hunter Armstrong (USA) and Kristen Romano (Puerto Rico) and incoming Buckeye Emma Finlin (Canada) have already qualified.
The Olympics will be held July 24-Aug. 11 and McGing's diving competition will take place Aug. 5-6.
