Mustangs win for 4th time this season

For the second time in their past three games, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs have scored over the 80-point plateau, and for the second time, that scoring led to a win. This time, the win was on the road, as the Mustangs defeated the West Union Dragons, 86-69.
This was the Mustangs' third win in their past four games and fourth win in their past six games played.
LC has also defeated Clermont Northeastern, Fayetteville and Blanchester in that span of six games.
The game between two Southern Hills Athletic Conference teams began with lots of scoring by the visiting Mustangs, as they scored 30 points in the first quarter, while their defense allowed 16.[[In-content Ad]]
In the second frame, LC outscored the Dragons, 15-12.
West Union falls to 2-13 overall and 1-8 in the SHAC. LC moves to 4-9 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
The one quarter where West Union came out with the higher-scoring eight minutes was the third, as they added 19 points to their total, while allowing 12. The fourth was won by LC at 29-22.
The Mustangs were led in scoring by Alec Smith with 22 points and 16 rebounds (10 offensive). Ryan Inman and Devin Pierson each added 18 points, with Inman scoring 16 points in the second half, and Pierson adding seven rebounds. Jacob Skaggs scored 11 for LC, and totaled eight rebounds.
Tyler Allen added nine points (all 3-pointers) and Gage Waits led LC with 10 assists, while scoring six points.
LC will play again on Friday as they host the Peebles Indians at LCHS in SHAC play.
