The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs applied heavy pressure on the North Adams defense, scoring two goals in each half. In the process, they left their home field as Southern Hills Athletic Conference champions Friday night with a 4-1 victory.
LC moves to a perfect 7-0-0 record to cap off their undefeated SHAC season, with two goals in each half against the visiting Green Devils, who netted their goal in the first half.
The Mustangs (12-1-1, overall) outshot their opponent, 31-5, even though they trailed in the first half.
"Everyone contributed in the win," LC coach Dennis West said. "This was such a great night for the Lynchburg-Clay soccer program, with both the boys and girls teams winning the SHAC championships with perfect records."
NA was first to score in the SHAC contest when Aaron Pertuset made the score 1-0 in favor of the Green Devils off a goal from 28 yards away.

The one-goal advantage didn't last very long when junior Tristan Wilbanks tied the score with 15:16 left in the opening half, as he beat the keeper in a one-on-one matchup.
LC sophomore Noah Scott put LC ahead at 2-1 with a goal with just eight seconds left in the first half.
"The goal by Noah to end the first half really fired the team up," West said. "Our play was so much better in the second half."
LC extended their lead in the second half with two more goals, the first from senior Gage Waits at 21:47 off a 22-yard free kick. The fourth and final goal came from Wilbanks at 12:58 off a pass from Waits.
LC sophomore keeper Devin Pierson totaled two saves.
