Mustangs gain 4th consecutive shutout, defeat Blanchester

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs shut out the Blanchester Wildcats at Lynchburg-Clay High School Monday night, earning their fourth shutout in a row and a 1-0 victory.

Lynchburg-Clay's lone goal was scored by Tristan Wilbanks at the 22:00 mark of the first half, off a lob from Gage Waits.

LC now stands at 6-3-1 overall and 3-2 in the league.

LC goalie Evan Bedard totaled six saves in the 80-minute game. Blanchester goalie Wesley Georges earned 12 saves against LC.

"This was a well-played match by both teams," LC coach Dennis West said. "Excellent defense was played by both teams.

"We're now looking ahead to a very important SHL contest at home versus Fairfield on Wednesday."

LC outshot Blanchester, 27-17.
