Mustangs finish regular season with make up games

     RIPLEY - The Lynchburg-Clay boys basketball team ended their season this week with two make up games to wrap up the regular season as they fell in the postseason tournament in the opening round.
     In their next to last regular season game the Mustangs defeated the Ripley Blue Jays by a score of 60-58 at Ripley High School.
     LC began the game with a 17-13 first quarter and outscored the Blue Jays 16-12 in the second eight minute period for a 33-25 halftime lead.
     In the third RHS won the quarter 18-13, and the Blue Jays swooped in to take the fourth by one point at 15-14.
     Senior Aaron Skaggs led the Mustangs with 22 points, finishing 4 of 6 from the three-point line.
     Junior Dylan Noll scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds for a double-double.
     In their final game of the season LC fell to Eastern Brown 79-73 at LCHS.
     The game came down to the final minutes, but EB pulled away with the win.
     "Our outside shooting was excellent as we went 12 of 25 from the three-point line," LC head coach Jason McLaughlin said. "Our team play was also excellent as we tallied 20 assists."
     The Mustangs were led by seniors in scoring with Jorden Dehaas netting 18 and while dishing out eight assists. Aaron Skaggs followed with 15 points and five rebounds.
     LC ends the season with a 7-14 overall mark, while finishing with an SHL record of 6-7.[[In-content Ad]]
